Here is Liam’s interpretation of this famous song by the Beatles. It was a lot of fun to learn and “woodshed” some of the drum parts. What makes this song interesting is a big variety of fun drumbeats, fills, solos, stops, accents on crash cymbals, switching from the hi-hat to the ride cymbal, 4/4 + 2/4 time signature changes, and playing sixteenth notes with both hands on the hi-hat at the end of the song. Speaking of the 4-bar drum fills which happen 2 times throughout the composition, Liam decided to make up his own solos, which still sounded like what Ringo Starr played on the original recording, but had an element of improvisation in them. It’s always fun to see how much the students improved since we did their first video.
