Austin did a great job imitating the style of Tré Cool, the drummer of Green Day. What made the performance really exciting is the fact that Austin sang the melody of the song in his head while playing. Even though the song doesn’t go too fast, there are interesting (and challenging) drum parts we had to work on. One of the coordination challenges was to keep constant eight notes with the left foot on the hi-hat while playing the floor tom/small tom/bass drum in unison with flams on the snare drum in between in the choruses.
